Jane began by painting portraits, here in acrylics on hospital bedsheets with torn card instead of brushes.

She has attended life drawing classes for many years in a variety of locations from the Royal Academy Schools famous room to chilly sheds at the bottom of someone's garden. Her favourite location though is the St Ives School of Painting. Its drop-in classes on a Wednesday evening and all day on Saturdays, never disappoint, especially as the backdrop is Porthmeor beach, and the soundtrack is the crashing waves on the rocks. |
